Spring Concert 2018 – Capture Love

Capture Love in Song

Eclipse Chorus Presents Its 15th Annual Spring Show

“If you could capture love, give it shape and let it breathe, it would be a song for you and me”.

On Saturday, May 12, Eclipse Chorus breathes life into these lyrics from an original composition by our own Wes Froese and former chorus member Pam Haidenger-Bains. Our evening spans the arc of romantic love from the blossoming stage (I Can’t Help Falling in Love with You) to relationship challenges (The Things We Do for Love) to broken hearts (Breaking Up is Hard to Do). Also blended into this sentimental journey is the joy and importance of brotherly love, love of a higher power and care for the welfare of the wider world through an energetic mix of popular music and the gospel genre (Heal The World, Oh Happy Day).

You’ll hear selections from The Great American Song Book to Bob Dylan, the Everly Brothers, the Eagles, Michael Buble and more.

A spirited, thoughtful and fun-filled stroll down the memory lane of love awaits. Let Eclipse “Put a Little Love in Your Heart”. Come join us!!

Fall Registration, Tuesday, September 6, 2016

WoodstockRegistration for the fall term will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 419 Ave E North, Saskatoon, on Tuesday, September 6, 2016.   Join us as we start to get ready for our Christmas concert.   You just never know what Roy Sydiaha will have up his sleeve to make it a memorable experience for the chorus and the audience.

To paraphrase Miley Cyrus:

There’s nothing more fun than being out on stage and getting the vibe from the crowd. There’s nothing like being on a set where you are there to make other people happy and to make them laugh. That’s the best time in the world.

If you want more information on joining our group, then check out our Join page.

Thank You to Federated Co-operatives Limited!

FCL LogoA big thanks to Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) and its Community Builders program.   In April of this year, the program recognized Susan Bradley, Past Chair and board member of Eclipse, as one of its Community Builders.  FCL is giving a $1,000 donation to Eclipse in recognition of the volunteer work Susan has done for us.

We are proud that Susan has been selected by FCL as a Community Builder, and give a big round of applause to FCL for supporting its community through this program.

Second Term Registration Tuesday, January 12, 2016

7707910020_5a71e74459_oThe Christmas Concert is over (what a blast!), and we’re now looking forward to chasing away the winter blues by working our way through through some snappy summer tunes for singin’ in the spring!   Warm company, some great songs, and the ever great duo of Roy Sydiaha as music director and Wes Froese at piano (you never quite know whether you’ll be laughing, singing, or learning about some obscure bit of music theory at any given point in time….).

If you’re thinking about joining, we’d love to have you give us a try.  Registration for the second term of Eclipse will be taking place at Christ Church Anglican on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 7:30 pm. The address is 515 28th Street W, Saskatoon.
